Dr. Who?

WTH happened? Who is this guy? I only watched the "new new earth" episode and it was barely palatible. Did they change the script writers also or did the actors/actreses forget how to do there job? Actually I think it was just the new Dr. When they first started airing the show again on sci-fi the Dr. then was hard to swallow but he grew on you really well. He did a great job. I just cannot take these teenage boy to be some uber dude Dr.

Time for a change already.

Broken Windows Installed Program?

Have you ever deleted a directory or moved/removed a hard drive and then attempt to repair a program installation or remove it? Well you can't cause the files are not there. At least that is what most people think. I came across this little know program from Microsoft that lets you remove products from the windows installer database without going thru the registry and deleting entries. Its very simple to use. Download, install, run, Select program, click remove and then boom its gone. You can re-install the program again.

Paranoia in the Night

I was driving home late last night (about 11:30pm) from work down the Dulles Greenway and out of the corner of my eye I see this smoke billowing up from a building. Upon closer look, it looked liked the building was on fire and there appeared to be nobody around, so I took the next exit to find the building address and verify for sure that it was on fire. These buildings are brand new and off in the middle of nowhere, after finally finding a way into the building lots, I finally pull in to see if the building really is on fire. As soon as I entered the parking lot I noticed a man walking from the back of the building, at first I was thinking crap he probably set it and i'm gonna get hurt. Turns out as I turned my car towards him, he was a security guard. I roll down my window and tell him that I was driving.... Anyways, he starts running towards the building I pointed at and exclaimed "FUCK! Let me get my keys!" and he dissapeared into the building. Well I still wasnt convinced it was fire, but apparently he was super freaked out over me thinking it was. I drove around to the back of the building and saw the smoke coming up from the back and at that very moment, it dawned on me that it was cold outside. I just pulled a dumbass outta my hat. Almost felt like I need my sign that says I'm stupid. Anyways, the flickering I saw was the area street lighting that made it look like it was on fire but it wasnt. I drove around front and the security guy is standing out front huffing and puffing from running all around this building looking for fire. I told him exactly where it was and that I believe its just the environmental control systems. Oops. He looked bored, I just gave him something to do. Either way, he thanked me profusely and said he was gonna double check and off he went running into the building again. I left cause I felt like a total dumbass.

What did I learn, nothing. LOL.

People who break RFC's need executed

Not sure if all of you know this but I managed a server and ran a hosting business. I recently decided to drop my dedicated server and move into a really nice reseller package (take a look here). Well I did the move and everything was ok UNTIL people started complaining they cannot find there sites etc.. I knew this would be a problem for a few hours so I told them to call back in 4 hours if they have the same problem. Well needless to say, after a week, some ISP's, namely cable isp's, have YET to get the new update records. All TTL's were not set above 48 hours so there is absolutely NO reason this sites should not resolve unless these ISP's are bypassing the RFC and not adhering to the TTL's of DNS records. Checking the domains with DNS Stuff tools, which does RFC compliant testing reports that all of the domains are FINE yet people cannot get to the sites from HOME. They can get to them fine at WORK, but at home they are dead in the water. Tried calling Adelphia and they are super clueless. FINALLY got a woman who knew what I was talking about and said that they do not flush there DNS caches at "whim" and told me that she couldnt do it. So..

What I suggest to everyone out there on the net is to use an AWESOME FREE DNS SERVICE called OpenDNS. There queries are super fast and they even do self correcting on urls if you mistype by accident. For instance, if you type www.myspace.cm instead of www.myspace.com it automatically corrects it. PLUS they keep an active blacklist of phishing sites and help protect your personal information. I highly recommend them. One day ISP's will start paying attention to standards and if there servers cannot handle standards, they need to upgrade the damn things or get the fuck out of the business. When I worked at Erols (RCN Internet now), we were very strict compliant on all RFC's and it is what makes them so successful. Anyways, the whole point to this rant was to tell Adelphia + Comcast to get off there asses and stop putting money in there pocket over keeping there network standards compliant.

Ugh. Maybe I should start a "Things that Piss me Off" column like my friend. heh.

This is the day the new movie Ghost Rider releases to theatres. I'm almost at a loss for words on how impressive this movie looks and do not konw why they are holding release till february. But nonetheless, i'm definately gonna catch it in the theatres.

Jesus Camp

Of all the things we need in this world is more segregation and hatred, the "Jesus Camp" helps further along this trend. Now we have extremists Muslims and extremists Christians. I find it absolutely abhorable that these kids not only are taught to pledge allegence to the Christian flag but also worship George Bush. The majority of these kids have not a clue what this means. They are being brain washed just like extremist muslim children to hate and be un-accepting of others whom have different ideas than there own. They are completly closed minded. This is absolutely horrible. The one thing the Christians use to be able to say that they didnt blow themselves up to get what they wanted. Guess its going to start changing once these brain washed children grow up.

In the off chance you havent a clue as to what I am talking about Click Here. I feel so much sorrow for these children that they are being mislead by a wolf in sheeps clothing.
